The 20th Amendment has now merged in the Constitution of Pakistan as President Asif Ali Zardari has signed it today, reported on Tuesday.
President Zardari said after signing the 20th Amendment this day that this alteration in the Constitution is now a guarantor of free and fair elections in the country.
Now those 28 elected parliamentarians’ memberships have been also restored today who took part in by-polls under an incomplete election commission.
These restored parliamentarians can also take part in the upcoming polls of the Senate, scheduled on March 2.
Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmad has told Media that there is no need of taking new oaths for these restored members.
