At least 50 people were feared trapped under rubble of a three-storey building of a pharmaceutical company that collapsed due to a boiler explosion, Media News reported. Three houses alongside the building also razed to the ground.
According to the details, five injured people have been shifted to the hospital. The rescue workers and people were trying to remove the debris. The factory watchman told that at least 17 workers were inside the factory when it collapsed.
Initial reports said roof of the factory building was collapsed following a powerful blast triggered by a gas cylinder, trapping at least 50 workers inside.
The Monday’s blast also wounded few people which were later taken to Jinnah and Sheikh Zayed hospitals, more than 15 kms from the incident site.
Rescue teams said four women had so far been pulled out alive from the debris and shifted to hospital in critical state.
