Aerial Strikes in Parts of North Waziristan kill 30 Militants (Zarb-e-Azb)

After a long period of speculation, which also included attempts at peace talks, Pakistan on June 15 launched a military operation against militants in the troubled North Waziristan agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

On its 15th day, a new phase of the offensive began, with the military launching a ground operation in Miramshah โ€“ the main town of North Waziristan.
