Pakistan cricket team’s one day captain, Shahid Afridi has supported the idea of hiring former batting great, Javed Miandad as the batting coach of the team to revive the sagging footnotes of batting.

“We are in consultation with Miandad on this issue and it will be good to have him as the batting coach because we can learn a lot from his experience to boost our batting technique “,he told reporters here on Tuesday.
He said Miandad can prove a good batting coach as the team needs to improve in batting to cope with pressure situations in international events especially in crunch matches.
“I have already spoken with Miandad on this issue (to be the batting coach of the team) and let’s see how things happen in due course of time, but one thing is clear that we need a very experienced professional like him to make amends in batting flaws “,he asserted.
Pakistan one day captain said he has no plans to come out of retirement of test cricket. “I am happy with my present status and I don’t want to reverse the decision because I am concentrating on shorter and shortest versions of the game and enjoy playing them “.
Afridi said he is in favour of trying new players for the tour of West Indies because such tours are meant to give chance to promising players.
