All Set for First T20 (Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Series)

Preparations for the first T20 match to be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe at Ghaddafi Stadium Lahore on Friday evening have been completed as the international cricket revives in the country six years after the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009.

The T20 match will begin at 7 PM PST.

Both teams will play a series of two T20s and three ODIs matches at Lahore.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recalled former ODI skipper Shoaib Malik and right-arm fast bowler Muhammad Sami.

Flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the team while wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed the vice-captain.

Security arrangements

More than 6000 police officials have been deployed around the stadium and hotel where Zimbabwe team is staying. Security cameras have also been installed inside and outside the stadium for the surveillance.

Traffic plan

Punjab government has issued a revised traffic plan for convenience of public which is in effect until the end of Pakistan-Zimbabwe series.

Instruction for ticket holders

Ticket holders have been instructed to bring their original CNICs in order to gain entry in the stadium. The tickets have been sold-out for the match and more than 27000 people would watch the match live at the stadium.

Cricket fans are excitedly waiting for the highly anticipated match which will revive international cricket in Pakistan. Several fans have purchased jerseys of Pakistan team to support the home team during the match. Public has also appreciated the efforts and role of Zimbabwean cricket in bringing back international cricket to the country.
