MQM chief Altaf Hussain and the President Asif Ali Zardari held a telephonic conversation on late Thursday night, News reports.

Talking to President, Hussain reiterated that it is the duty of everyone to respect the institutions responsible for national security, adding that the prevailing critical situation of Pakistan can hardly put up with any kind of clash between institutions.
MQM chief Altaf also exchanged views concerning with prevailing political situation besides challenges faced by Pakistan. “I am worried over estranged relations between the key institutions of Pakistan,” Altaf observed.
“All the national security institutions should sit together, given the ongoing critical juncture, and chalk out such a strategy which ensures respect to national security institutions, democracy and the nation,” Altaf proposed.
Consensus over the national issues is the need of the hour, Hussain urged.
