Blast smashes mosque shrines in Khyber Agency
A powerful explosion has occurred in tehsil Landi Kotal of Khyber Agency on early Thursday, shattering apart a mosque and some shrines, police sources said.
Meanwhile, no casualty or injury was reported during explosion, witnesses told media.
According to sources, some unidentified miscreants blew up with explosives a mosque, Masjid-e-Ishkhel, and some shrines located within the boundary wall of mosque late on Wednesday night and succeeded to flee.
No loss of life was reported during the explosion sources told media, adding that the demolished mosque was 100-year-old and only mosque in the locality.
Thousands of devotees would come to visit those shrines that have been demolished with explosion, mosque caretaker said.
This was the unique incident ever happened in Landi Kotal, he further said.
