KARACHI: The tropical Cyclone Phet is roaring toward Pakistan and currently 400 km away from Karachi and 80 km from Gwadar.
According to met office, the cyclone will likely make landfall at coastal areas of Karachi and Pesni on Sunday. The cyclone is approaching towards coastal areas of Sindh with 12km/h. It will trigger 3 to 5 meter high weaves whereas rain cycle in Balochistan will lasts for next 48 hours. So far, 222 rain has been recorded in Gwadar whereas Chief Minister Balochistan has announced Rs. 50 million for probable cyclone affectees.
Torrential rains are predicted for Sindh including Karachi from Saturday evening and will continue till Tuesday.
Met office predicted thunderstorm and rains for Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, lower Sindh during next 24 hours.
