Shahbaz Taseer, a son of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer, has been abducted from Lahore, sources said.
Gulbarg Police has confirmed the kidnapping of the son of slain former governor of Punjab who was shot dead by one of his bodyguards.
Police say four men overpowered Shahbaz Taseer’s car Friday in Lahore’s upmarket Gulberg area.
Taseer had left his house from Cavalry Ground for his office around 10:15am. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore said his car was intercepted by a black SUV and motorbike around 600 yards from the office and up to three men dragged Taseer out of the car and took him away.
No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
Officials say the Taseer family has been repeatedly threatened.
Taseer’s abduction is the second high-profile kidnapping in Lahore this month. Police are still searching for American aid expert Warren Weinstein who was kidnapped two weeks ago.
