He said that Amir confessed committing the crime in the early stage of investigation which turned in his favour.

“We have no objection over the return of Amir as he confessed his crime and cooperated with the investigations,” ICC Chief Executive added.

He further said that Amir has been allowed to make a comeback in domestic cricket so that he can earn a place in Pakistan team if he performs well.

“Anyone can commit mistakes and we have no doubts over the talent of Amir,” Richardson said.

He also lauded the nomination of former Pakistan great Zaheer Abbas as the next ICC President.

“Zaheer Abbas was a great cricketer and his nomination as ICC President will benefit the game of cricket,” Richardson added.

He also praised the efforts of Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan authorities for organizing a successful series with Zimbabwe in Lahore which revived international cricket in Pakistan six years after the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.
