Cricketer-turned politician, Imran Khan, who is leading a mass protest movement against the government, Sunday night said that Lahore had slipped out of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) hands, media reported.

“Lahore has fallen to PTI. It used to be PMLN’s bastion, but not anymore”, said he talking to protestors outside the building the legislature here.

Imran Khan and populist cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri have gathered thousands of supporters in Islamabad since August 14 calling on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over what they claim was massive rigging of the 2013 election.

Khan said arrangements for a historic PTI public gathering were underway.

Moving forward, he quoted Punjab governor Chaudhry Sarwar, a key PMLN figure, as saying that he was disappointed in his party’s state of affairs as most of the ministers were as corrupt as anything.

“It’s a pity that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s crony, listening to the voice of his conscience, has admitted to the crimes of his guru’s government. I salute him for speaking the truth”, Khan said applauding Chaudhry Sarwar for his bravery.
