Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday slammed what he described as silence of the so-called secular political parties and women rights groups over controversial remarks of Maulana Fazlur Rehman against female participants of PTI’s rallies and sit-ins.

“I am surprised that even women rights groups have maintained silence on Rehman’s remarks,” he said while addressing his supporters at D-Chowk.

He said that a sea of people would converge on Islamabad on Nov 30.

“No matter what Nawaz Sharif (Prime Minister) does to stop people, they will gather in great numbers at D-Chowk on November 30. No police action can prevent people from reaching here,” Khan told his crowd.

“On November 30, we will stage a protest against every tyrant step undertaken by this government. We will hold a protest against the electricity price hike.”

Khan said that PTI would force the government to reduce the petroleum prices further by Rs 5 before November 30.

“I again want to congratulate you all for oil price cut as it is because of you that petroleum tariffs have been reduced.”

“The nation has realized who is plunderer and who is savior. People know the difference between the tyrants and the aspirants of Naya Pakistan,” he said.

“Today we have youth coming in from Gilgit Baltistan – if you haven’t been there I tell you it is heavenly beautiful. Gilgit Baltistan is two times of Switzerland – I have toured every corner in Switzerland.”

Khan urged the poeple of Pakistan to question the actual amount of the assets and sources of the rulers.

“These rulers have their assets abroad. Prime Minister Sharif wears expensive watches and owns vehicles and later declare them gifts to evade taxes”

The PTI chief questioned the rationale behind setting up expensive coal-based power plants in Punjab instead of Karachi.

“Punjab has been chosen so that Shahbaz Sharif can inaugurate the project and use the event as photo opportunity.

“Miyan Sb, even if you want to produce expensive electricity using coal then establish plants at the Karachi ports,” he suggested.

He said that Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakthunkhwa can produce tons of electricity if we exploit our hydel resources.”

“If we produce electricity via hydel avenues, we will produce massive amounts at cheaper rates.” He said that federal government was not allowing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to set up small hydel plants.
