Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan Monday warned Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif against a crackdown on the non-violent demonstrators staging a mass anti-government sit-in outside Parliament House, media reported.

“Sending in riot police to disperse protestors should be the last thing on your mind as your resorting to any extreme measure against us will be your last mistake as prime minister of Pakistan”, said Khan shooting a caveat at the premier, whose resignation is on top of a list of demands his party has laid out.

He said such an action would set the whole country on fire, which no amount of firefighting would be able to extinguish.

According to sources, government is ready to launch an operation to break the PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek protest sit-ins staged in front of country’s legislature.

Sounding out that PTI’s war on this illegal government has entered a decisive phase, Khan ordered his workers to show up in large numbers at the protest venue tomorrow (Tuesday).

“This is not my war alone. The whole Pakistan is fighting this war with me. And we have to win this war”, Khan told his workers in a rather somber tone.

The cricketer-turned politician also assured his followers of his fighting this war for as long as there was life in him while a showdown is most probably in the making around the corner.

“Team PTI, your captain will not quit until the last  ball (has been bowled or the last wicket taken)”, Khan told his cheering cohorts likening their struggle to a do-or-die cricket match.

Earlier, addressing his workers, Khan said Nawaz will not get a chance to become a political martyr because Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would, with all its worth, never let this dream of his (PM) materialize.

“Nawaz, I know you’re planning to plunge the country into anarchy. You want to be rescued by a coup d’état so that you can become a political martyr. I am afraid this plan of yours will never fly. You will have to bite the bullet of tendering a resignation”, said Khan  pitching another curveball at the premier.

Laughing at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) pro prime minister rally in Lahore, Khan said passion drives Insafians to come out while government pressure drives Patwaris (officials who keep records regarding the ownership of land) to fill the venues of N-league’s mock rallies.

“The PMLN forces people to attend their public gatherings by using the government machinery. They even rent a crowd if needed”, Khan said.

Moving ahead, Khan reiterated his pledge (to) not to leave here until Nawaz let go of the office of prime minister.

“Mian Sahib, we are not going anywhere as long as you don’t go home. I am so fit that I can last a year in this small container as I have made it a makeshift home of mine”, the PTI chief said taking a clichéd jibe at the sitting PM, who has dug his heels even deeper after drawing some support from other political parties and maybe country’s powerful army.

Khan and populist cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri have led thousands of supporters demonstrating outside the legislature this week calling for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to go.

The standoff has raised fears of possible military intervention in the country, which has seen three coups since its creation in 1947.
