Meeting of Govt with Taliban Committees a Positive Development (Nadeem Malik Live)

Politicians on Thursday termed the first meeting between the government and Taliban committee as a positive development and hoped that desired results would be achieved, media reports.

The topic of the peace talks between the Taliban and government was discussed in current affair program “Nadeem Malik Live”.

The politicians also said that there should be ceasefire from both sides to ensure successful talks.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) vice-president Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said taht it was good to know that the talks are being held according to the constitution.

He expressed happiness that the first meeting held at the KPK House.

Qureshi demanded explanation of the “troubled areas” as the committees said that the talks would be applicable in these areas.

He said that many areas of Pakistan are troubled areas, like many cities of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab as well.

The PTI leader said that the nation wants peace in the whole country.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Mufti Kifayatullah said that every one wants peace but he did not participate in the peace talks process respecting the decisions of the party leadership.

He prayed for better results.

Sindh Minister Manzoor Wasan said that the month of February and March are important for the country’s politics as ‘Action’ will take place in London, while its ‘Reaction’ in Karachi.

Wasan said that political influence is very much in appointment of policemen in the Sindh police.

“For establishing peace, the PPP, PML-N, PTI and all parties must agree on one point and that is peace for all”, he said.

Professor Ibrahim, member of the Taliban commitee, said that the Taliban’s stance should be listened carefully as they are the key as far as peace is concerned.

“Taliban are serious that is why they accepted the government’s offer for peace talks”, he said.
