National Assembly adopted a resolution to carve out a province in southern Punjab despite hue and cry from the opposition benches, reports Thursday.
National Assembly once again witnessed commotion today as the parliamentarians of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) resisted the proceedings against the government being run by a convicted Prime Minister.
Presiding over the NA session which commenced late by two hours and 20 minutes, the NA Speaker Dr. Fahmida Mirza urged the PML-N members to settled down calmly in their seats and not spoil the ambience of the House.
However, the dissenting members kept on with slogans ‘No, No’ loud and continuous. They stood in front of the empty seat of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira said certain former judges give rise to misunderstandings in their television talk shows.
The PML-N women members flashed posters in front of Kaira as he was addressing the House. The posters display slogans disapproving ‘A convicted Prime Minister and rampant corruption and demanding the implementation of the judicial orders.
