The National Assembly will pass Protection of Pakistan Bill, 2014 in today’s session, media reported Wednesday. The Senate has already passed the bill unanimously with amendments on June 30. The bill provides for protection against waging of war or insurrection against Pakistan and prevention of acts threatening security of the country. The law provides unusual powers to army and law-enforcing institutions for operations against those involved in terrorism, money extortion and other crimes. The session will also pay tribute to armed forces for their sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
