Rangers Headquarter Blast

At least five people were injured in a blast targeting Rangers personnel near their headquarters in Karachi, media reported Wednesday. The blast damaged many shops and windowpanes of several buildings near Rangers headquarters located in North Nazimabad, injuring five people.

It was not clear whether the paramilitary troops were among those injured who were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed hospital.

A senior police official said around 5kg bomb was planted in a motorbike and detonated with a remote-control to target the Rangers.

The blast took place near a market place and residential area at around 9:00 am when people were busy in shopping.

“The terrorists wanted to target Rangers officers but they remained safe since their vehicle passed minutes before the explosion,” a police officer told SAMAA correspondent.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) examined the scene and collected evidences.
