Pakistan Open team jumped three more places in the inaugural Asia Cup Bridge Championship in Lingbo, China and currently lies sixth after steam- rolling Korea 25-5 and Malaysia 18-12 on Friday.

Pakistan men’s team, led by star performer Rashid- ul-Ghazi and Khalid Javed, was placed 9th on day four, put up another sterling show and outclassed their weak opponent Korea thoroughly in bidding, table play and every other department of the game.
The 14th round saw Pakistan maintaining their superb run when they downed Malaysia 18-12. Pakistan mustered 247 victory points after the 14th round.
Indonesia climbed to top the ladder in the men’s competition with 270 victory points, followed by China Hong Kong (269), Chinese Taipei (268), China (261), India (253) and Pakistan (247).
Pakistan’s ladies’ team maintained their 9th spot after going down 9-12 to China Hong Kong. Host China is on top in the ladies’ contest with 238 victory points while the Pakistan ladies’ team has collected 150 victory points after ten rounds.
Pakistan look well tuned in the competition and are hoping to finish among the top five in the 20-nation competition.
