Thanks to South Africa, Pakistan made it to the semi-finals of ICC’s Twenty20 World Cup on the basis of better run rate and will play the first semi-final versus Sri Lanka tomorrow, Media reports Wednesday.

South Africa won the toss of the last Super Eight game and elected to field first at Premadasa Stadium against the India that hit 152 runs at the loss of six wickets; Raina at 45 and Rohit Sharma 25 runs were the highlights of the match.

In their innings, the Proteas were all out at 151 runs with Faf du Plessis’s rapid 65. Balaji and Zaheer Khan grabbed three wickets each.

Thus, India, despite winning a crunch match against the South Africa, bowed out and Pakistan was given the Semi’s spot on the basis of better run rate.

In the second semi-final, Australia will take on West Indies on Friday.

Bursting into massive festivities, the Pakistanis took to roads and open areas to celebrate their spot in the semis with fireworks and music.
