The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) has been left infuriated by the development and lodged an official appeal with the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS).

The association had placed hopes on putting a good show in the event as they were confident that one of the four squad members – Asian runner-up Mohammad Majid Ali, Hamza Akbar, Haris Nadeem and Amir Tariq – would be able to win the championship.

“The PBSA has officially received a regret from the President of the Billiard & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) who are hosting the Asian U21 Snooker Championship in Chandigarh, stating that the BSFI will not be able to obtain the necessary clearance from their ministry, who are busy in elections,” stated a press release.

“Therefore, the Pakistan team will not be able to obtain their visas in time for their participation in the Asian Junior Championship in India.”

“The management of the PBSA and the participating team are very disappointed by the lack of effort by the authorities.

“The PBSA has lodged an official protest to the ACBS and will also take up the matter in the forthcoming ACBS-Annual General Meeting.”
