A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to get the covert missile strikes stopped in Pakistan’s tribal areas, media reported.

Sources said the petition was filed by a tribe man belonging to South Waziristan Agency, Mado Jan Gohar Wazir who made Defence ministry, Interior ministry and Information ministry parties in his petition.

He stated that the strikes are violation of international laws, the Geneva Convention and Article nine and 14 of the Constitution, and have so far killed 47 foreigners among hundreds of innocent people in Pakistan.

He pleaded to the apex court to order the government to take steps for halting such attacks besides compensating families of victims.
