PM Nawaz Sharif in Karachi to Review Law and Order

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Karachi today on one-day visit aimed at reviewing law-and-order following Thursday’s protest strike against killing of Muttahida Quami Movement workers in the metropolis, news reported Friday.

According to sources, PM Sharif will stay in Sindh Governor House where he will chair a high level meeting on law and order situation in the provincial capital.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, DG Rangers, Inspector General Sindh and other high-rank officers will attend the meeting.

In today’s vital meeting, the Prime Minister will be briefed about progress regarding the probe into the killing of MQM worker Sohail Ahmed.

Later on, the premier will separately meet a delegation of MQM to address their reservations over workers’ kidnappings. The PM is also scheduled to meet the victim’s family.

The PM is accompanied by Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Nawaz Sharif yesterday took notice of what MQM called ‘extrajudicial killing’ of it worker Sohail, ordering an immediate inquiry into the incident.

Bullet-ridden body of the MQM activist was recovered from Mochko area of on Wednesday.

The premier Sharif promised all-out help to the MQM and vouched for justice to victims at the earliest.
