The federal cabinet on Monday decided to carry forward the peace process in line with the decisions of all-party conference. Presiding over cabinet’s meeting here, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that continuation of drone strikes suggest Pakistan’s stance was not properly understood.

The prime minister said that Pakistan had paid the heaviest price in war against terrorism. “We will not let talks and peace process derail,” he said.

According to a statement issued from the Prime Minister Office, it was decided that all decisions taken by the APC would be respected.

The prime minister deplored the continuation of drone strikes, saying the recent predator attack severally hurt the government’s efforts for peace.

On this occasion, Interior Minister Chauhdry Nisar also briefed the prime minister about the situation arising from the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud.
