Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ‘Azadi March’ posed no threat to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) government.

“I will be all ears if the opposition feels like sharing its grievances with me. I will also try my best to address them before or after their protest march”, the prime minister said while talking to Radio Pakistan.

During the interview, the prime minister lamented that some political quarters were dead set on wreaking havoc through unrest.

“Political differences have always been settled by the way of negotiation and not agitation, adding adversaries’ nefarious designs, which the people are fully alive to, would die their own death.

The prime minister said the judiciary and other institutions have been working independently to address complaints of the opposition and they should be trusted.

He stressed that it should not be forgotten that Operation Zarb-e Azb, Pakistan’s major military crackdown on Taliban militants hunkered down in North Waziristan, had reached a decisive stage.

“Any untoward political accident in the country can prove to be a distraction for armed forces fighting a final battle for the survival of Pakistan. The only beneficiary of such an event will be the terrorists”, said he.

The prime minister called upon the opposition to play a positive and constructive role in the larger interest of the country.
