PM Sharif Addresses Boao Forum Seeks Regional Connectivity

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday addressed opening session of the Boao Forum in China, urging Asian countries to foster cooperation for economic prosperity of the region, news reported.

The PM has arrived in Sanya city of China in its Hainan province to participate in the 2014 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), on the invitation of the Chinese Government.

In his address, the PM said that Asian countries should focus on regional connectivity.

He said top priority should be given to the resolution of disputes as peace is a prerequisite to economic development.

The PM said that Pak-China Economic Corridor will begin a new era of development and prosperity for Pakistan.

The PM applauded Chinaโ€™s friendship with Pakistan and called for more regional coordination.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and other high officials.

The Prime Minister, during his visit, will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to review progress in bilateral ties, with particular focus on economic cooperation and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
