Close aides of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday advised him not to use Boeing 777 aircraft for his visit to the United States.

The advice comes four days after Samaa TV revealed the prime minister’s plan to use the aircraft for his upcoming visit that would cost millions of rupees to national kitty.

On Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan strongly criticized the prime minister, citing Samaa TV report in his by-election rally in Lahore’s Dongi Ground in Samanabad area of Lahore.

The PMN-N’s heavyweights are said to have advised the premier to use small a plane instead of Boeing 777 aircraft for his visit to Washington.

The advice came during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss his upcoming visit to US this month.

The Prime Minister said the visit would help further promote the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and United States.

He expressed hope that the visit would also provide Pakistan an opportunity to highlight its matchless sacrifices and huge losses in the war on terror.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Advisor to PM on National Security Sartaj Aziz and PM’s Special Assistant Tariq
Fatemi.
