Police Recover NATO Supplies

Police said on Wednesday they have seized four stolen Nato transport containers. Personnel of the Khazana police station were involved in the raid in a store on the Charsadda Road.

Sources said that the goods were probably stolen from the Ring Road area where the container terminals were previously located.

They were shifted to Nowshera following a series of attacks.

Although the police have arrested the store’s guard, identified as Jan Mohammad, they have not yet gotten hold of the shop-owner.

The stolen Nato containers were packed with US army uniforms, generators, tents, computers, first aid items, wireless sets, refrigerators and other equipments.

The bulk of Nato supplies trucked overland into Afghanistan are shipped to Karachi and driven to the crossing at Torkham or Chaman.
