Earlier, PPP’s Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, directed his party leadership to launch the ‘final phase’ of reconciliatory talks with the MQM.

The former president of Pakistan issued directives to this effect at a high-level party meeting he chaired at Bilawal House.

“PPP was trying its best to bring these fence-mending parleys to a ‘mutually beneficial conclusion’ in the light of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s reconciliatory policy, which must endure”, said Zardari during the meeting.

He also tasked Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, with the formation of a committee to push the talks ahead.
