A large number of arsonists staged protest and blocked main roads for many hours by setting tires alight after a imam of a mosque was shot injured by unidentified assailants on Thursday evening, News Reports.

The attack took place on Kasi Road in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.
The wounded, identified as Qari Ghulam Yaseen Abbasi, is a Imam at Bismillah Qasim Jama Mosque and also a religious cleric.
According to details, armed assailants opened fire at Ghulam Yaseen Abbasi, leaving the victim critically injured and fled the crime scene.
Later, the injured was rushed to Civil Hospital. Doctors said the poor victim was critical in condition as he received bullets in the head.
Subsequently, the injured was moved to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for better medication.
The incident saw rampage and agitation in the following areas of the provincial capital, Kasi Road, Amaldar Road, Mishan Road, Mizan Chowke, Liaquat Bazaar, and Mekangi Road as plenty of protestors had taken to streets and set tires inflame to clog the traffic.
By the end of the day, police arrived on the scenes of protest and managed to clamp down the deteriorating situation.
