The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in the process of hashing out an exhaustive strategy to shut down the entire country on December 18 to ratchet up pressure on the government to form a judicial commission for May 2013 election probe, news reported Tuesday.

The sources privy to the PTI circles disclosed that the federal capital will also be placed under virtual lockdown on December 18 that will see about making the vehicular traffic to halt to a standstill. However, the party has announced in unequivocal terms that the pathways for ambulances will not be blocked.

Under the hitherto-readied strategy, the PTI workers will mount their shutdown protest at nine points including Kashmir Highway, Bara Kahu, Tarnol, Golra Morr, Aabpara Chowk, Rawat T Chowk, Khanna Bridge and Margala Road, according to the sources.

Meantime, the traders and transporters of the city will be appealed to join hands with the party to make the shutdown a success.

The PTI leadership directed the workers to arrive at the specified places at 8am on December 18.
