Resume Hearing in Drug Scam Case (Supreme Court)

The Supreme Court will resume hearing of ephedrine import scam case today (Friday). Prime Minister Gilaniโ€™s son Musa Gilani has been named an accused in the scam by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF).Supreme Court Musa, a parliamentarian from Multan, is currently on a private tour to South Africa.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister directed his son to return to country to face charges of his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of Ephedrine drug, worth Rs.7 billion.

Brigadier Fahim, ANF Force Commander, Rawalpindi, has filed another application in the Supreme Court, seeking to submit additional documents in this case.

Meanwhile, a report on progress made so far in investigation of the scam would also be submitted.

The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has named eight accused in its petition, including Musa Gilani, former Health Secretary Khushnood Lashari, incumbent Narcotics Control Secretary Zafar Abbas and MNA Mian Abdul Sattar and others.
