Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said that protesting parties, trying to humble a democratically elected parliament had failed disgracefully, news reported.

“By shaking hands with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri, Imran Khan has undersigned the political death warrant of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI)”, said Shahbaz while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) lawmakers.

He said it was also a fact that PTI leadership was disgusted with Khan due to his autocratic and undemocratic attitude.

“His party members are quitting demanding Imran be dechaired”, said he.

Shahbaz added, U-turns taken by Imran Khan were unprecedented in the country’s political history.

“That is why he is politically isolated”, said the CM Punjab.

He said, the determination expressed by all political parties during the joint session of the parliament to protect democracy and constitution and to uphold law is voice of the whole nation.

Indeed, he added, the political maturity shown by political parties at this critical juncture bodes well for stability of the democratic system.
