National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took up the issue of embezzlement in last year’s Sindh Festival and began investigations against the provincial government.

The bureau demanded from the Accountant General the details regarding the corruption worth Rs.2 billion in a cultural festival that took place in Moenjo Daro last year.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced to pay the festival’s bills from the party’s fund; but, it never happened, according to the sources.

Secretary Culture Aijaz Memon was punished for not signing the summary. He was replaced with Inamullah Dharejo.

Dharejo also balked at signing the summary. The Saeen government gave additional charge to Saqib Soomro.

Soomro approved the summary and dispatched it to Chief Minister’s office. Later on, this Soomro was made administrator.
