Six Players Reach Home After Dismal Show at Champions Trophy

As many as six players of the national cricket team overnight flew back into Pakistan  after licking the dust in Champions Trophy at the hands of India, South Africa and West Indies, media reported Tuesday.

It should be mentioned here that Pakistan could not win a single group match in the tournament.

The players which returned today include Nasir Jamshed, Kamran Akmal, Muhammed Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Imran Farhat. No players talked to media at the airport.

National team coach Dav Whatmore noted the team could not display good performance in Champions Trophy; also, the batsmen came up with extremely disappointing show.

On a query, he said he has all his attention focused on World Cup 2015.

Responding a question regarding the changes in the national squad for the upcoming events, the coach said he cannot give any remarks on this, as it is the management that will decide about the changes.
