Addressing a large number of supporters at the Lahore Railway Station here, Karim said that a military operation should be launched against the terrorists at the behest of Pakistani people, and not at the US demand.

“The train march has helped the people realize that they should stand firm against the terrorists,” he said.

“The attack on Malala Yousufzai, an education campaigner, who was shot in the head by the Taliban last week, is equal to an attack on the whole system.”

The SIC chief also called for an urgent OIC meeting to devise a common strategy.

Earlier in the day, he urged the government to kick off a decisive military operation in North Waziristan.

He was addressing hundreds of supporters at Multan railway station while leading Karachi-Rawalpindi “Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat” train march.

The religious alliance leader also urged the government to mobilize Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) members for anti-blasphemy legislation.
