Taliban – Govt Committees Agree to Move Forward for Peace

The Taliban and the government committees agreed to move forward positively for peace in the country, media reports on Thursday. After the first meeting this afternoon‚ the two sides said the dialogue would be applicable to troubled areas alone and not the entire country.

Maulana Samiul Haq said the two sides agreed that the process of dialogue should not prolong as the nation is awaiting some good news. Irfan Siddiqui said that the meeting was good, both sides vowed to move forward for peace. The government committee told the Taliban committee that security check-posts can be eliminated in the tribal areas. The committee also offered helicopter to the Taliban for going to Waziristan for talks.
