Three Rangers Troops Dead in Blast (Karachi)

At least three Rangers personnel were killed and five people including three other Rangers troops were injured in a remoted controlled explosion on Friday morning.

Three out of six security men—Naik Rashid Ahmed, Constable Aijaz and Driver Ibrahim—succumbed to injuries at CMH Hospital Malir.Karachi

The security personnel said the explosion have resemblance with those which took place on on ninth and tenth of Moharram.

Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik summoned report from DG Rangers and Inspector General Police Sindh about the incident.

At least eight people including six Rangers personnel were injured when an explosion took place near a vehicle of Rangers in city area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, News reported Friday morning.

According to police source, the explosive device was planted by roadside concealed underground which was detonated as the Rangers vehicle came near to its daily duty spot.

The blast was so fierce that glasses of vehicles and windowpanes of nearby buildings were smashed.

The injured personnel have been shifted to CMH Malir.

The blast took place near Safoorah Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The law-enforcers including police and the Rangers put security cordon around the blast site. The security has been put on high alert.
