Two Groups Exchange Fire Tension Prevails in Lyari

Lyari remained a war zone on Wednesday as violence erupted in the area after two groups armed with rocket launchers and guns exchanged fire, News reported.

The residents of the area staged a protest at Mauripur Road against lawlessness, causing severe traffic jam.

The clashes occurred between the two rival groups in Agra Taj Colony and Bihar Colony of the area.

The situation in the neighborhood turned violent after two young men belonging to Kutchi Rabta Committee (KRC) were kidnapped and tortured by the People’s Aman Committee members.

The youth were later released but were sprayed with bullets, which left one dead. The other, however, managed to escape.

The residents of the area are restricted to their house and the shops have been closed as tension still prevails in the area.
