24 Arrested in Lyari Operation Law-enforcers Face Gunfights

Police and the Rangers conducted targeted operation in the metropolis area of Lyari and arrested at least 24 people during house-to-house search operation, news reported Thursday.

The law-enforcers also seized eight motorcycles in the operation.

Moving on a tip-off regarding the presence of criminal, a police contingent arrived in Lyari area of Sheedi Village and got the street barriers removed. Police seized eight motorbikes and apprehended eight people during the operation.

Meantime, police personnel faced gun-attacks from the criminals and had to escape to safety. Children also pelted them with stones on Lyariโ€™s streets.

Armed with modern firearms, over 200 Rangers personnel reached in the area over tip-offs and took Sango Lane in their cordon. They conducted house-to-house search operation in the area, ensuing haphazard gunfights. However, only 14 miscreants were captured in the long run and shifted to some undisclosed location.

To cap it all, no vital target killer or gang-war criminal was arrested in the operation.
