Hossein Vafaei Ayouri Gets 2nd Win in International Snooker Championship

World Reigning Champion Hossein Vafaei Ayouri of Iran chalked out his second win in the Jubilee Insurance 7-nation International Snooker Championship when he beat Hussain Muhammad Ali of Bahrain 4-1 at Hotel Pearl Continental on Monday evening.Hossein Vafaei Ayouri of Iran

The 17-year-old snooker sensation, Ayouri, who is top contender for the title routed Hussain Muhammad 4-1.

Brilliant Ayouri lost the second frame before registering an impressive 76-42, 48-55, 96-08, 91-17, 106-0 win. He posted the breaks of 57 in third, 66 in the fourth and ended in style with a break of 69 in the final frame.

Earlier in his first match, Ayouri easily blanked Pakistan’s Sharjeel Mehmood in four straight frames.

After slight challenge in the first frame Hussein Ayouri just out-potted his opponent 60-47,75-15,66-25,78-08 that included a break of 58 in the final frame.

Pakistan debutant Abdul Sattar pulled off a major shock when he defeated Macau Indoor Asian Games gold medalist Mohammed Mustafa Shehab of United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an exciting seven frames contest.

Sattar showed his class by chalking out the break of 100 in the first and 69 in the sixth frame. Shehab compiled the break of 50 in the second and 83 in the fifth.

Another Pakistan’s debutant Sultan Muhammad registered the best win of the day when shocked veteran international Muhammad Al Joaker of United Arab Emirates (UAE) 4-1.

This year’s National championship runner-up Sultan carved out a break of 74 in the opening frame to defeated Joaker 75-14,76-13,58-31,26-81,59-52.

It was double blow for Joaker, who earlier in the morning session lost to Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed of Egypt 4-1.

Pakistan Champion Muhammad Asif smashed a brilliant break of 126 while thrashing Egyptian Yaser Ahmed Elsherbiny 4-0.

After making break of 57 in the second frames Asif ended in a blaze of glory with spectacular break of 126 in the final frame. Asif was awarded the first frame because of late arrival of his opponent won 98-9, 107-0,126-01.

Four-time Asian Champion Yasin Merchant of India also started in style by blanking Pakistan’s Sohail Shehzad 4-0.
