Pakistan sealed 3-1 lead in ODI series after defeating India by six wickets in first match in Chennai today, News reported on Sunday. Nasir Jamshed once again showed his brilliant cricket talent with another unbeaten century in the crucial ODI against India in Chennai, which helped Pakistan to win the match with clear edge over the hosting team.

Earlier, Indian Skipper MS Dhoni helped his side with brilliant unbeaten innings of 113 runs to set 228-run target to Pakistan in the first One Day International match here.

Pakistani fast bowlers seemed unplayable by Indian strong batting line, as the hosts lost five key wickets within 10 over.

Young Junaid sent back four key batsmen of the Indian team to the pavilion while big man, Muhammad Irfan took Sehwag’s wicket.

Pakistan Captain Misbahul Haq won the toss and elected to field first against India and his decision proved fruitful after clear victory in the match.

India had slipped to 29 for five against some incisive Pakistan bowling, and Dhoni, first with Raina and then with Ashwin, constructed two contrasting partnerships to pull India to a safe score.

Junaid Khan bowled brilliantly for his four wickets and so was Mohammad Hafeez during the middle of the innings. However, in the end, Dhoni, dropped by Misbah when he was on 18, fought the sapping weather to take India past 200.

Shoaib Malik replaced Umar Akmal in Pakistan squad while Sehwag replaced Ajinkya Rahane in the Indian squad.

Pakistan squad: Nasir, Younis, Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq (cap) Kamran Akmal, Azhar, Shoaib Malik,Junaid Khan,Umar Gul,Saeed Ajmal, Irfan.

India squad: G Gambhir, V Sehwag, B Kumar, V Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, SK Raina, RG Sharma, MS Dhoni*โ€ , R Ashwin, I Sharma, AB Dinda.

Both teams met for the second time in 2012. They first played against each other in Asia Cup earlier this year when India beat Pakistan by six wickets. Pakistan set a huge 329 target, which India chased comprehensively with 13 balls remaining.

Pakistanโ€™s overall record against the archrival is better. Out of 121 matches played between them Pakistan has won 69. In India, Pakistan won 17 matches out of 27. This would be their first ODI on Indian soil after 2007.

In 2012, India won nine matches and lost six, while Pakistan won only six and lost ten.

This was India’s first ODI at home in well over a year and first since Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement from this format of the game.
