As floods continue to wreak havoc in Punjab, thousands of troops, police and other emergency personnel have been deployed to deliver drinking water, blankets and other relief supplies using helicopters and boats.

Teams of the NDMA have shifted at least 232,000 flood victims to safer locations, Radio Pakistan reports.

NDMA teams have been deployed along Chenab and Jhelum rivers to help people in the flood-hit areas. These teams are also overseeing the relief and rescue operation in Multan and Muzaffargarh.Punjab government has released Rs2 billion for rehabilitation, rescue operation and relief activities in the flood-hit districts, Radio Pakistan reports.

The provincial government has released Rs100 million for each district affected by floods. A high flood in Chenab River of more than 300,000 cusecs is passing through Panjnad headworks News reports.

Around eight to 10 feet water has entered houses as Rasulpur, Dedhbakhtiari and Chek Kehel dyke breaks.
