Former Punjab law minster, Rana Sanaullah, Tuesday morning warned Pakistan Tehreee-e-Insaf (PTI) of an even tougher than expected police crackdown if the party leader, Imran Khan, tried to lead his marchers into federal capital’s Red Zone, media reported.

“Trespassing the ‘Red Zone’ is prohibited by the law of the land and the government reserves the right to resort to the use of brute force in case of any violation”, said Sanullah, who was sacked as provincial law minister after Model Town massacre, which claimed the lives of 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek supporters last month.

Imran Khan Monday evening announced to march on Islamabad’s high security ‘Red Zone’ with his party workers and supporters.

“I will lead the march on the Red Zone and my workers will follow me,” he said, addressing anti-government protesters gathered in the capital.

The heavily guarded Red Zone houses Pakistan’s top government buildings and many foreign embassies.

Talking to Samaa TV, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) stalwart Sanaullah said that he would never approve even a single gunshot be fired if violence broke out during PTI’s incursion into the Red Zone today (Tuesday).

“Let me tell you, only the federal interior minister was invested with the the powers to ‘call the shots’ here in Islamabad”, said he replying to a question.

A rather perplexed Sanaullah questioned that who would be responsible for the casualties if cops collided with the protestors in the Red Zone?

“I do not wish another Model Town here in Islamabad at all. And for your information, a case has duly been lodged with the police, who are investigating the case in earnest”, said he replying to a question.
