In a surprise twist of events after the mediatory efforts by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Siraj-ul-Haq and PPP leader Khurshid Shah, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan showed lenience to taper off the hype built around Long March, in case his demands are met came to know the four demands of Imran Khan that Siraj-ul-Haq conveyed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif late Wednesday night.

First demand
Re-elections should be held in four controversial constituencies.

Second demand
A high-level commission be set up to probe the charges of electoral riggings May 11 general elections.

Third demand
Punitive action be taken against the Returning Officers (ROs) involved in the riggings.

Fourth demand
The probe of rigging should precede the re-vote in four constituencies.

Siraj-ul-Haq briefed PM Sharif that the captain would not accept re-polling without the prior investigations in the controversial constituencies.

The sources said the PM Sharif, reacting to the demands of Imran Khan, expressed willingness to hold the re-elections in four disputed constituencies. However, he balked at taking action against the ROs, the sources said.

If demands are met to the satisfaction of Imran Khan, the Long March will take place as scheduled but will end on the same day without posing any threat to the incumbent government, the sources said.
