South Africa beat Pakistan by 28 runs in 4th ODI

South Africa has taken 3-1 lead and clinched five-match ODI series after beating Pakistan in 4th ODI by 28 runs at Sheikh Zaid Stadium in Abu Dhabi tonight, media reports.

South Africa won the toss and chose to go for batting first in the fourth day-night ODI fixture against Pakistan on Friday evening.

The Proteas played impressively and continued scoring while saving the wickets from Pakistani bowlers. They scored 266 runs after losing only 5 wickets and setting 267 runs target for Green Shirts.

Opener Q de Kock impressed the spectators by making top score of 112 runs on 135 balls. The runner up scorer HM Amla made 46 runs on 50 balls and second runner up AB de Villiers scored 30 runs on 40 balls.  All other players also played well and added runs in the total.

Pakistani bowlers could not do much tonight and gave more runs but took less wickets. Mohammad Hafeez and Junaid Khan took two wickets each while Mohammad Irfan took only one wicket.

Pakistan openers started well and saved wickets at start of the innings but did not score more runs to meet the target.

Ahmad Shehzad scored 43 runs, Mohammad Hafiz 33 runs, Debutant Sohaib Maqsood played well and received applause from the audience with impressive shots. He scored 56 runs on 54 balls.

Skipper Misbah played comparatively better but his 65 runs also not helped Pakistan to equalize the target set by South African team.

All team hardly scored 238 runs and returned to the pavilion after playing 49.2 overs. South Africa won the match by 26 runs and clinched the ODI series by 3-1 lead.

South African bowler DW Steyn took five wickets while LL Tsotsobe,  RMclaren, and Imran tahir took one wicket each.
