Three killed 100 Injured as Two Trains Collide Near Bin Qasim (Karachi)

Three people were killed and more than 40 people were injured on Wednesday when two passenger trains collided near Karachi, News reports.Trains Collide

Millat Express and Shalimar Express trains collided near Bin Qasim Town, some 50 kilometers from Karachi city, police and rescue sources said.

At least 40 passengers have been reported injured in the accident. Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to Jinnah and other hospitals.

Asghar Ali, the guard in-charge of Shalimar Express and two others were killed in the collision which suspended the railway traffic between Karachi and Punjab on up and down tracks.

The Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Railway, Shoaib Adil said Shalimar Express collided with Millat Expressโ€™s rear carriage on the down track, derailing its three carriages,

He said engine of the Shalimar Express was also partially damaged.

Rescue teams were faced severe hardships due to the darkness in the area during search for the injured passengers in overturned carriages.

Police and Rangers also arrived at the scene and joined the rescue efforts.
